This is an extremely important test performed in critical spaces in a building to ensure that it is tight enough to maintain the concentration of the fire agent (e.g. foam CO2 etc.) at a level which will extinguish the fire.

Hence, it is not sufficient to prove the proper functioning of the fire protection system, but also the space it is discharged in to must be tight.
